Stoke defender Higginbotham open to Ipswich stay

Stoke City defender Danny Higginbotham is open to signing permanently for Ipswich Town.

Higginbotham is interested in a longer stint with Ipswich as long as he gets the chance to play football.

"We have to see how things go but if the opportunity was there to extend the loan then I'd definitely look at it," he told the club's official website.

"The most important thing for me is to play games and Ipswich have given me the chance to do that.

"Being left out of the 25 man squad by Stoke made the decision to go out on loan easier because I'm not really a player who wants to sit around and pick up my wages.

"I spoke to Jon Walters and Danny Collins, who have obviously both played here and they spoke highly of the club and I'm delighted to be here."
