Stoke City boss Tony Pulis has no doubts Jermaine Pennant wants to stay at the Brit.
Stoke have begun negotiations with Pennant and his parent club, Real Zaragoza - although Pulis has already warned they will not be held to ransom.
"He had a fitness test before the Man City game last week and could easily have pulled out," said Pulis, "but he was desperate to play for us.
"It shows he wants to play for the football club, wants to impress and that he has a great rapport with the supporters."
