Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe made his Stoke City debut last night.
The defender suffered an injury in the early stages of a loan spell with Napoli in January 2022 and only last night did he start a game again, lasting 76 minutes of the FA Cup defeat by Brighton.
Tuanzebe has joined Stoke on loan until the end of the season and manager Alex Neil knows he has to be careful with the 25-year-old.
"Axel is a top player," he said.
"He has trained all the time he has been here and has been a really good shape.
"It is his tolerance levels in terms of what his body can get through, that is the question. He has been out for 14 months. His tolerance levels are unknown.
"Axel may well rattle out the rest of the games for the rest of the season but if I had left him on he would have cramped up and broken down that would have been negligent on my part."
