Stoke City boss Mark Hughes has played down their friendly defeat to TSV 1860 Munich.
Hughes again named two different teams in each half of the 2-0 defeat.
"It was a game we used for fitness," Hughes told The Sentinel, "and so everybody got another 45 minutes.
"They (TSV) were a little bit sharper because they've had something like seven games.
"Also, you don't prepare for the opposition (in pre-season) and the game plan was just what we are going to do and they took advantage of that.
"The pitch was difficult. We've trained on it all week and it cut up. They pressed high and we weren't able to circulate the ball as well as we know we can, so they were able to win the ball in key areas.
"It's something we recognise and it happens every year when you are building up to the new season."
