Stoke City boss Mark Hughes is full of praise for Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany.
Hughes will see the big Belgian up close today and doubts City will ever do a better bit of business.
He said: "He's probably worth £50m now and he's given six years service and skippered the club to two Premier League titles.
"In terms of pound for pound, that deal has to be way up there. I'll claim that one - along with Pablo Zabaleta!"
He added: "You look at certain levels of finance being thrown at mediocre players and it does not bear comparison.
"At current values and in the current market Vinny is a huge asset for the club.
"If you try and replace him it will be difficult to get anyone in for the best part of £50m."
