Stoke City boss Mark Hughes was delighted with Stephen Ireland's performance in victory over West Ham United.
The midfielder's current deal is due to expire in June.
"I thought he was great today," Hughes enthused.
"Stevie Ireland I brought back into the side and was pleased to. I know that every time I bring Stevie into the team he will give us quality and awareness of when to play the right pass.
"He probably could have had two goals himself and I was really pleased for him and for the team.
"Today he showed what he can bring to the team."
