Stoke City boss Mark Hughes is delighted with Peter Crouch's new deal.

Crouch was being linked with QPR and Crystal Palace this month.

Hughes said: "I'm sure there was interest, but it never progressed to any great degree because I think Peter intimated to everybody he talked to that he hoped he would be offered something here.

"He's absolutely delighted and on the training ground he's had a bit of ribbing from the guys.

"He's a very accomplished player, but also a great guy around the group."
