Stoke City manager Mark Hughes has defended himself regarding his failed spell as manager of QPR.
The Welshman took the reins at Loftus Road in January 2012, replacing Neil Warnock, but was sacked in November of the same year after a shocking run of results.
During his time with the R's, Hughes bought in a plethora of new players but was unable to steer the ship in the right direction fort which he has been heavily criticized ever since.
Ahead of Stoke's trip to west London this weekend, the Potters boss insists he did everything he could to guide QPR to success but was unable to initiate a strong bond between the playing group which is such an important factor in football.
"You make the changes for what you think are the right reasons, reasons that you think will enhance the club and allow it to flourish and prosper in the future but sometimes it doesn't come off and you have to hold your hands up," said Hughes of his R's reign.
"On paper, the players were very good players but the combination and the dynamic in the dressing room just didn't work. Sometimes you can't envisage that happening until you bring the group together.
"It was a difficult time and obviously at the end of the day I was judge on results. My results at the beginning of the season weren't good enough so I lost my job."
