Stoke boss Hughes baffled by Shawcross England snub

Stoke City boss Mark Hughes is baffled by Ryan Shawcross' England snub.

Shawcross was overlooked again, this time for Cardiff's Steven Caulker for next Wednesday's friendly against Denmark at Wembley, following Phil Jagielka's injury.

"I think he should be in the squad," said Hughes.

"I'm not sure how many times Roy has seen him this season, but I thought he was worth another look at.

"I've been really impressed with what Ryan has produced. He's taken more responsibility, as he should as captain, but I've seen him grow into the role."
