The Daily Mail reports that Stoke City are planning to hijack Newcastle United's pursuit of Barcelona winger Sandro Ramirez.

Potters boss Mark Hughes is hoping to use his contacts at the Catalan giants in order to win the race to land the teenager who is also a reported target for Tottenham.

Hughes has had success with Barcelona transfers in recent seasons, landing defender Marc Muniesa and forward Bojan Krkic from the Camp Nou.

Ramirez has featured in 12 games in all competitions for Barca this season and scored four goals.
