Scotland U21 boss Billy Stark was delighted with the performances of a trio of his midfielders in Monday night's 3-0 win over Luxembourg.
Wigan Athletic's Fraser Fyvie, Dundee United's Stuart Armstrong and Partick Thistle's Stuart Bannigan were all on form as Scotland kicked off their UEFA U21 Championship Group Three qualifying campaign with a victory.
"Fraser is a confident boy. He is a type of midfield player that is prevalent in the modern game. He takes things, keeps the ball moving and gets us going," he said.
"We had a lot of good performers. I thought Armstrong was a class act in the middle of the park and Stuart Bannigan got about his midfield work and helped us to get a foothold in the game and control it.
"We started off a bit nervously but recovered well and played some really nice football and did the damage.
"To get the goal before half-time was a great boost and I'm absolutely more than satisfied by the start to the campaign."
