Standard Liege youth chief Christophe Dessy says Everton is the right club for Marouane Fellaini.

Dessy brought Fellaini through the youth system at Standard before he was sold to Everton.

"We received various proposals because Marouane had outstanding athletic capacities," recalls Dessy to the Liverpool Echo. "But I think that he made the good choice to stay where he was until moving to Everton.

"Determination, the technical and physical side, and he always had a good attitude. Marouane is respectful of everything, his club and his leaders, the players he's playing with and the fans. His profile corresponds completely to the English championship."
