Standard Liège fullback Daniel Opare is being watched by Sunderland.
The Guardian says Sunderland are among the clubs monitoring the potential availability of the Ghana defender Opare.
Opare, a 20-year-old who can play at either right-back or left-back, joined Standard Liège from Real Madrid Castilla - the reserve club of the Spanish giants - a year ago and is now attracting attention from several clubs across Europe.
Lyon, Lille, Wolfsburg and Spartak Moscow have joined Sunderland in being interested in a player whom Liège have valued at £7m but who is likely to be sold for something closer to £4m.
