St Mirren sign Camara on short term deal

Former Celtic and Wolves left-back Mo Camara has signed for St Mirren. The 33-year-old Guinea international has joined Saints until the end of the season, subject to international clearance, with an option to extend his contract by another year.

Boss Gus MacPherson told the club's official website: "We have all the paperwork done with Mo Camara, all we are waiting on now is the international clearance coming through from the FA - but the main thing is that the contracts have been signed and Mo is now a St Mirren player.

"Sometimes the international clearance can take a bit longer than other times to get pushed through but we're hopeful that, as it is just coming from the English FA, things will be straightforward and processed sooner rather than later.

"No matter how long the international clearance takes, the deal is done and the paperwork has been signed."

"Mo showed that he was very keen to come back up here to play so things went very smoothly and it was all done in a matter of 48 hours.

"We made no secret that, if possible, we were looking to get in an actual left-back to fill the position, and while the process has taken a wee while longer than we would have hoped for, we've got it done and we're delighted."
