St Mirren manager Danny Lennon was overjoyed after signing a contract extension yesterday.
The 41-year old, who has recently been linked with the job at Hibernian, will remain in Paisley until 2014 and he was thrilled after putting pen to the new deal.
"It's always flattering to hear your name being linked with jobs. That just means there are good things happening at your club. But I'm delighted with this deal," said Lennon.
"I need to give credit to my representative Raymond Sparkes and the board for thrashing it out so quickly. My main focus is finishing the job we set out to do here.
"The objectives haven't changed - we want to establish ourselves and break into the top six.
"I've always been open about saying survival is our main aim. But it can't be the sole ambition if we want to progress.
"I also want to thank the whole backroom team - Tommy Craig, Paul Mathers, Gerry Docherty, Craig McGinlay, Alan Gray the kit-man, Andy the part-time kit-man. It's important to thank them when I'm sitting with a contract extension."
