St Johnstone's McInnes intrigued by Bristol City job

St Johnstone boss Derek McInnes is being linked with the vacant Bristol City role and says it is an interesting position.

The English Championship club are still on the hunt for a new manager after the axing of Keith Millen earlier this month and McInnes is one name being spoken about and although he is intrigued by the job, he has made it clear that a potential move is not his decision to make.

"I have been reluctant to speak about it, it has been bandied about for a while," said McInnes after St Johnstone's 2-0 win over Inverness Caledonian Thistle on Saturday.

"But once the chairman gave me permission to speak to Bristol in the early part of next week, that's the situation.

"He has allowed me to speak to them and has obviously agreed something with them. It's a case of going down and waiting to see what develops.

"The first decision was the chairman's to allow me to go and the next decision, if anything is to be done, will be Bristol's."

He added: "I'm reluctant to even speak about leaving, all it is is an opportunity to speak to them.

"The fact I'm going down to speak, obviously there is an attraction there. But I'm reluctant to say any more on it.

"The decision isn't mine at the minute. Whether I have got a decision to make, at the minute it's Bristol's decision."
