They remain in talks with Barcelona over centre-half Clement Lenglet, while Djed Spence should this week join from Middlesbrough, with both clubs still thought to be negotiating a fee which is expected to be around £20m.

Everton winger Anthony Gordon also remains a target, though the Toffees will risk a supporter backlash by selling the homegrown winger, notwithstanding their perilous financial situation.
