Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is to swing the axe on winger David Bentley.

The Sun says Bentley joined Spurs in the summer from Blackburn when Spaniard Juande Ramos was in charge of the Londoners.

But he could find himself out of the side if Redknapp succeeds in buying Middlesbrough's left-winger Stewart Downing.
