Tottenham are to make another bid for Schalke winger Lewis Holtby this week.
The Sunday Mirror says Tottenham will make a third bid to accelerate the signing of Holtby.
But his German club, Schalke, are determined to bank at least £1.5million if Holtby moves to White Hart Lane before the January transfer window shuts.
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has already failed with two bids to bring Holtby's transfer forward.
Levy will try for a third time this week, but Schalke are determined not to let Holtby leave for peanuts with half of their season remaining.
A German source said: "Schalke are determined they will get at least £1.5m. Otherwise, they do not feel it is worth letting him go now. He's such an important player to their Bundesliga and Champions League aims."
