Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has confirmed plans to hand Ledley King a new deal.
King's current contract expires in June and Redknapp said: "I'd love to keep Ledley here. He's a big part of this football club, a special player and guy.
"Hopefully he will be fit to play tomorrow. He's unbelievable really. It's amazing how he does it."
Redknapp compared King to Paul McGrath, the former Manchester United and Ireland defender who suffered with a similar knee complaint.
"He was a Rolls-Royce, who never trained but turned in incredible performances," he said.
