Spurs boss Redknapp excited about Lennon form

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp believes the best is yet to come from his England pair Jermain Defoe and Aaron Lennon.

Reflecting on their stunning 9-1 victory over Wigan on Sunday, Redknapp highlighted the improvements in both players.

He told TalkSport: "Defoe is a terrific finisher. He trained well that Thursday, Friday, he looked in great form and he was so sharp in training I thought if he can carry that on to Saturday and I said to him before the game, 'you looked great this week, make sure you go out there and do it today'.

"And some of the crossing from Aaron Lennon - the first ball in for Crouch, the balls in for Defoe - he hit some great crosses on Saturday. His pace is always frightening, he gets at people. Sometimes he gets criticised that his final ball could be better but on Saturday some of his crossing was out of the top drawer."
