Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas made a deadline day play to bring Alexandre Pato back to Europe on Monday. The former AC Milan striker is again in flying form back home in Brazil with Corinthians.
Os Donos da Bola says Spurs boss AVB, a big fan of Pato, had an offer tabled for the forward on the final day of the summer market. But it was quickly rejected by Corinthians.
AVB feels his squad is still a striker light and will try again for Pato in January.
The 24 year-old has scored six goals in 16 games this season, including twice against Flamengo. Spurs had hoped to mark that performance as Pato's farewell game, but Corinthians' board couldn't be turned.
