Spurs boost as Chelsea go cold on Luis Enrique

Tottenham have received a boost in their pursuit of a new manager.

Spurs are seeking a long-term appointment after Antonio Conte's departure last month.

The Telegraph says Chelsea have decided against pursuing a deal for former Barcelona coach Luis Enrique after talks in London.

And that could leave the door open for Spurs - who are keen on the ex-Barcelona man despite Daniel Levy previously holding reservations about his lack of Premier League experience.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have made contact with former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino.

The Argentine joins Julian Nagelsmann on Chelsea's shortlist of managers - which now doesn't feature Enrique.
