Sportradar gives boost to Australian second tier football

Sports digital solutions company Sportradar has launched the first over-the-top (OTT) service dedicated to second-tier Australian soccer, reports, www.sportspromedia.com/.

Working in partnership with the sport's regional federations in New South Wales (NSW) and Queensland, the NPL TV streaming service will focus on live and on-demand content for each state's National Premier League matches. In addition to NSW and Queensland, Sportradar hopes to attract the country's other regional bodies over the course of the 2020 season.

More than 1,000 matches will be livestreamed exclusively on the jointly owned platform, with Sportradar also exploring the integration of ad-supported and paid subscription models on a revenue share basis.

Under the existing model, NPL TV is available for free to domestic subscribers, who also have the option to upgrade to a premium full-HD monthly service. A separate paywall has been created for international subscribers. The service is available online and via a mobile app for iOS and Android.
