Sporting Kansas City goalkeeper Jimmy Nielsen has revealed that he recommended American defender Mike Jones to Danish club FC Hjorring.
The 34-year old Danish gloveman previously guided his homeland club to sign ex-Tottenham defender Calum Butcher, who has since departed, and Nielsen feels that former teammate Jones can be a great signing for Hjorring.
"He (Jones) can reach the same level as the Butcher, might even be better. He is physically very strong and is very impressive in the air.
"He must improve his game at the ground, but he is already good enough for the Danish first division.
"That I can guarantee.""I helped Callum to the club last year, but he's gone again now, so I talked to my good friend and former teammate Jacob Kruger, and I recommended Mike Jones as a good replacement," Nielsen told bold.dk.
