The 2012/13 Scottish Premier League season got underway today with reigning premiers Celtic scoring a lucky victory.
The Hoops were handed a fortuitous three points as they beat Aberdeen 1-0 at Parkhead with Kris Commons the goal scorer in the 79th minute.
Dons keeper Jamie Langfield was unable to keep out the effort from Commons, allowing the ball to get through his defence when he really should have held on to the shot.
In other SPL matches on Saturday, last season's Scottish Cup winners Heart of Midlothian beat ten man St Johnstone (who had Gregory Tade sent off for violent conduct) 2-0 at Tynecastle thanks to goals from John Sutton (penalty) and David Templeton giving new manager John McGlynn a debut win.
Top flight newcomers Ross County secured an early point with a scoreless draw at home against Motherwell with the same scoreline occurring between Kilmarnock and Rangers' replacements Dundee.
St Mirren were the recipients of a late Darren McGregor goal to record a 2-2 home draw with Inverness Caledonian Thistle who fought back from a goal down before being denied maximum points at the death.
Dundee United and Hibernian begin their campaign tomorrow with a meeting at Tannadice Park. Scottish Premier League scores - season 2012/13
