Spirited showing in Barcelona loss pleases Leicester boss Ranieri

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri was pleased with the spirit shown by his side during the 4-2 defeat at the hands of Barcelona.

Leicester were beaten by the Spanish giants Barcelona in the International Champions Cup in Stockholm on Wednesday but it could have been so much worse for the Premier League champions as they were trailing 3-0 at half-time.

The Foxes most certainly put in a much improved performance during the second period and Ranieri has gone on to praise the spirit of his players despite the defeat.

The Italian said: "I'm very, very pleased with our performance, because I saw the right spirit.

"Of course to make our football we need more fitness, but we are in a good moment at this time with the pre-season preparation.

"I saw good tactical discipline. When we got the ball we tried to play good football, but of course at this moment it is not possible to do this.

"In the second half we got back to 3-2, which was good. It was a good match."

Summer signing Ahmed Musa scored Leicester's goals while Munir grabbed a brace for Barca along with goals from Luis Suarez and Rafa Mujica.
