Spezia are hoping to close a deal for Chelsea defender Ethan Ampadu.

The Wales international spent last season with Venezia and is wanted back in Italy by Spezia.

Ampadu hasn't been given a shirt number at Chelsea for the new campaign and has been encouraged to move on.

Città dello Spezia says Spezia have made their loan proposal to Chelsea and are waiting on a response.

Ampadu was a regular with Venezia during their relegation campaign last season.
