Arsenal may be wishing they kept a hold of Chuba Akpom for the season, after the youngster turned in a stellar performance on debut for Hull City at the weekend.
The 19-year-old striker scored a delightful goal as Hull defeated Huddersfield 2-0 in their Championship opener, on the same weekend his employers slumped to an embarrassing 2-0 home defeat to West Ham in the Premier League.
Akpom will undoubtedly be relieved to score, given he has previously had short term spells at Brentford, Coventry City and Nottingham Forrest – and failed to score a single goal with any of them.
The England U20 international told the club's official website: “We played well on the day and showed plenty of experience in both defence and attack.
“It's a good team to be playing in and for me to get my first senior goal, and on my debut for the club, was a really special moment for me.
“Hopefully I can get more goals. The fans were great towards me and made a great atmosphere. It got me really pumped up for the game."
