Celtic young gun James Forrest has praised the impact former teammates Aiden McGeady and Shaun Maloney had on his career.
The 21-year old winger has become a Hoops regular over the last 18 months and he suggests his rapid improvement as an attacking source was made possible by the influence of the Spartak Moscow and Wigan Athletic players respectively.
"Most of the boys here know Aiden," Forrest said of McGeady ahead of Celtic's Champions League trip tp Spartak on Tuesday.
"He's a good attacking player and he'll be one of Spartak's biggest threats. Aiden was an inspiration for me at Celtic.
"He and Shaun Maloney were playing in my position and it was great for me to learn off both.
"They were playing first-team football, so it was ideal for me to watch and pick up a lot of things from them to help me become a better player.
"I have learned off Aiden and Shaun and now it's about me in the first team - and I'm just going to concentrate on staying there and doing as well as I can."
