Spartak Moscow defender in Rangers sights

The Daily Mail>/i> reports Rangers are eyeing a move for Spartak Moscow's Austrian centre-back Martin Stranzl. Stranzl, who was linked with Celtic in the summer is currently out of favour at the Russian club following a change of management.

Agent Thomas Boehm said: "We know about the interest from Rangers but it is only talk at the moment. Rangers approached us about Martin, not the other way around.

"Martin has said before that he is keen to play for one of the top clubs in England and Scotland and he would be keen on Glasgow Rangers.

"His goal is to play in the UK. He has had teams looking at him for many years now as he is an experienced international player who has all the attributes necessary for the British game."
