Spanish giants Barcelona are believed to be showing interest in a trip to Australia to play a pre-season friendly against an A-League club. Barcelona officials have met with Sydney FC officials to discuss the potential of a match in August with the possibility of a second match, against Melbourne Victory, in the plans.

It would be a huge boost for football in Australia if the Catalan powerhouse were to travel down under as they are on the verge of claiming the Spanish La Liga and are still in the European Champions League where they will meet Chelsea in the semi-final second leg on Wednesday.
