Spanish football set for May 16 strike

The Spanish Football Federation has called for a strike on May 16 in protest against the federal government.

The RFEF are unhappy with the government over several issues.

"As a consequence of this disrespectful attitude towards the RFEF and the lack of resolution for all these issues," they announced all competitions in all categories will be suspended indefinitely from May 16.

This includes La Liga, but should not involve the Champions League and Europa League, where Real Madrid, Barcelona and Sevilla are still in competition.
