Spain coach Enrique: Unfair to criticise Ramos now

Spain coach Luis Enrique says Sergio Ramos will be fine after his penalty miss in their 1-1 draw with Switzerland.

Enrique doesn't think that Sergio Ramos' confidence will take too much of a hit despite the captain missing two penalties in Spain's 1-1 draw in Switzerland on Saturday.

The Real Madrid defender missed twice from the spot to end a run of 25 consecutive converted penalties for his club and country.

"It would be unfair to criticise Sergio Ramos now," Luis Enrique said after the game.

"If there had been three, four or however many penalties, he would have taken them all.

"We have a list of takers and Ramos is first. He would have taken them as long as he was on the pitch.

"He scored 25 in a row so we're not going to criticise him now."
