Spain boss Luis Enrique: Losing games with Barcelona like Cup final defeat

Spain boss Luis Enrique admits losing games at Barcelona was a tough experience.

Coaching Barcelona comes with a lot of responsibility, but the Spain coach has noted that losing matches was the toughest part of the job.

"Any game I lost was like an elimination or a final," Luis Enrique explained

"In the big games, losing hurts a lot.

"I've had a special relationship with Barcelona, as I've spent a lot of my career there, as a player and a coach.

"Any of the teams I've coached, I could do it again. I've had a very good relationship with all the clubs I've been at.

"As a player I left Barcelona because I thought I didn't have much more to offer and as a coach, something similar.

"I thought they needed someone to bring them more."

Having Lionel Messi in your ranks would seem like a luxury, but Luis Enrique has made clear that there are certain things you can't teach the Argentine.

"How do you coach him? I can't tell him how to dribble, pass or shoot because he's an artist," Luis Enrique recognised.

"Overall you tell him to do things, about how he has to press, where he has to position himself... it's all about giving him instructions."
