Southend United are being linked with a move for Manchester United youngster Ethan Hamilton.

The 20-year-old midfielder managed to score four goals in 14 games for Rochdale last term.

Southend are interested in taking him on for the full season.

However, their boss Kevin Bond did not reveal too much about the situation.

"I won't comment on any players and I won't speculate," said Bond to reporters.

"We will do our business privately and if anything happens then we'll say something.

"I don't want to speculate on anyone coming in."
