Southampton are moving for Motherwell's superkid Stuart McKinstry.

The Scottish Sun says Saints are trying to hijack McKinstry's £400,000 move to Leeds United this month after mounting a late bid.

The Yorkshire club invited the 16-year-old winger down to their training complex.

And they looked set to seal a deal that could eventually land Motherwell a bumper windfall, which includes add-ons and a selling-on fee.

However, Southampton have also agreed a fee with Well and are trying to persuade McKinstry to sign for Ralph Hasenhuttl's outfit.
