Southampton striker Charlie Austin has been offered to Newcastle United.
New Toon boss Steve Bruce has already dipped into the transfer market this summer by securing Joelinton from Hoffenheim, for a club record £40m.
The Evening Chronicle says Bruce is now talking to the Newcastle hierarchy about the possibility of bringing Southampton's Austin to St James' Park.
Austin is reportedly unhappy at Southampton after a dressing room row with manager Ralph Hassenhuttl.
He was also omitted from the Saints' traveling squad for their tour of Austria and Ireland.
It's believed that Southampton are trying to offload the striker this summer, who has one year left on his £70,000-a-week contract.
