Southampton signing Graziano Pelle admits it was difficult to leave Feyenoord last season.

The Italian moved to St Mary's last week.

"This was an unique opportunity," Pelle declared.

"It was not easy to leave. At Feyenoord, I played in the best team I've ever played. But I also want to prove myself in a better league."

He added: "I've scored a lot of goals, which was nice, but I wanted to be champion. Hopefully Feyenoord can succeed next season."
