Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is looking to forge his own pathway with Southampton.

The 21-year-old Danish midfielder, who joined the Saints from Bayern Munich this summer, has been compared with Barcelona star Sergio Busquets but insists he is only worried about making his own name in the Premier League.

"Maybe in what he does, he is one of the best in the world. But I am Pierre," he told the Daily Mirror.

"I want to make my own story.

"Now the first chapter is Premier League and Southampton, let's see how it goes. I can do nothing but work as hard as possible.

"One thing I know is I will fight until the end."

Hojbjerg is set to debut for Southampton when they host Watford at St Mary's in the Premier League season opener on Saturday.
