Southampton are set to miss Shane Long for around six weeks according to reports.
The Republic of Ireland striker came off after just 14 minutes of the Saints' 3-2 FA Cup fourth round loss to Crystal Palace on the weekend after a heavy collision with Joel Ward.
It was initially reported that Long had suffered a punctured lung but it has since been revealed that he only has fractured ribs and will miss at least four weeks and as many as six.
The injury adds to Southampton's woes with Long joining Toby Alderweireld, Victor Wanyama, Morgan Schneiderlin and Jay Rodriguez and Sam Gallagher in the St Mary's medical room.
