Southampton's chances of signing Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez look positive following recent comments from Louis van Gaal.
The Mexican striker is on a season-long at Real Madrid from Manchester United but van Gaal looks ready to sell him in the summer.
The Saints are keen on a £7.5million deal for Chicharito and even if his recent winner in the Champions League quarter-final against Atletico Madrid is not enough for van Gaal to keep him at Old Trafford.
The Dutchman indicated that Chicharito would not be given any further chances just like Danny Welbeck who was sold to Arsenal last summer.
"I gave him a chance and then I said the same thing as I did to Danny Welbeck," van Gaal said.
"When you are a substitute it's no good. And I won't change over that. So if you score a goal you are suddenly different? I don't think so."
