Southampton are contemplating a loan move for Everton defender Michael Keane.

The 29-year-old is not in favor at the Goodison Park club under Frank Lampard.

However, the Daily Mail states that Everton consider Southampton a rival, as they are both battling relegation.

Unless there is a transfer fee involved, they have no intention of loaning out Keane to help another team in the drop zone.

The Saints are bottom of the league and struggling under new boss Nathan Jones.

With a young squad, they believe that Keane's experience would be invaluable.
