Southampton are ready to open new contract talks with superkid Luke Shaw.

The Daily Star says Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal are all hot on the trail of Saints' latest homegrown boy wonder Shaw - dubbed the next Gareth Bale.

But Southampton want to reward the exciting left-back for making his first-team breakthrough this season with a new long-term deal and pay rise.

Saints recently handed a fresh five-year contract to promising midfielder James Ward-Prowse, 17.

Shaw, who only turned 17 in July and is currently the youngest player in the league, is in line to receive similar terms.
