Southampton are chasing Real Betis midfielder Joan Verdu.

Estadio Deportivo says Saints boss Mauricio Pochettino is keen to bring Verdu to England for next season.

The former Barcelona junior came close to signing for Swansea City last summer as he came off contract at Espanyol.

Pochettino worked with Verdu when in charge of Espanyol. The midfielder can leave Betis following their relegation.
