Southampton midfielder James Ward-Prowse wants to become as good as the likes of Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard.
The 25-year-old is in line for his fifth senior cap with the English national team on Wednesday against Denmark in the Nations League.
He has spent a long time out of the fray, last playing for the team in 2017.
But Ward-Prowse wants to keep improving and eventually emulate his heroes Gerrard and Lampard.
"They typify a midfielder," Ward-Prowse told the Daily Echo when asked about his England heroes.
"Box-to-box with lots of energy, could score goals, good technical ability and I want to try and replicate those sorts of players.
"The likes of Gerrard and Lampard, they were the guys I tried to emulate."
