Southampton midfielder Oriol Romeu admits they froze during their 3-0 defeat at Burnley.
While Romeu felt the side were competing well in the early stages, improvements must be made after conceding.
“That reaction has to be better. In the pre-season we haven't had that, last season we haven't been very good at coming back from a losing position," Romeu said.
“We need to compete until the end. The game isn't over until it's finished, even if we are two or three nil down, we have our chances and we need to be competing better.
“That is something we cannot afford to do, throwing games after 60 minutes because we need points."
