Southampton midfielder Ibrahima Diallo admits he was disappointed to see Nathan Jones lose his job.
The Premier League club have parted company with manager Jones, who was hired less than six months ago.
Jones was relieved of his post after a loss to Wolves in the Premier League, when Southampton had a 1-0 lead in the game and an extra man towards the end of the contest.
“I was surprised," Diallo told the Daily Echo.
“I was surprised. And yeah, it's always tough to see that.
“It's hard. Because it was hard before he came as well. We didn't start the season well so I think it's not the fault of one person in particular, just as a team we have to get better.
“I was surprised. I'm sad for him," he added.
“But we don't have time to think about that. The most important thing is the club right now and we have to just focus on the next game."
