Southampton have reportedly joined the race to sign Holland international Wesley Sneijder.
The Daily Mail believes that the Saints could make a play for the Galatasaray star in January with the financially troubled Turkish club reportedly looking to offload one of their prized assets.
Former Real Madrid and Inter Milan attacking midfielder Sneijder, who would cost around £8.8million, played under Saints boss Ronald Koeman during a stage of his Ajax career between 2002 and 2005.
Since arriving in Istanbul in January 2013, Sneijder has made 78 appearances and scored 25 goals for the Cimbom.
