Southampton have included the option of buying Chelsea left back Ryan Bertrand in a £10m deal next year should he impress on loan.
Bertrand, who was part of the team that won the Champions League Final in 2012, joined Southampton on a season-long loan last night.
The 24-year-old has already been on loan at six other clubs during his Chelsea career and is now behind Luis and Cesar Azpilicueta in the pecking order.
Southampton see Bertrand as a possible long-term replacement for Luke Shaw, who joined Manchester United for £30m.
